Educational Booths at Rhinebeck

For many years, individual members of the CGA have provided educational displays on cashmere goats and cashmere fiber at the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. Cashmere goats are always on display as well in the Exotic Animal barn. In 2016, CGA began offering an additional educational booth within the vendor buildings at the festival, with products made from CGA's own cashmere goats for sale.

In October of 2023, visitors to the 2023 New York State Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck stopped in the Exotic Animal Barn to meet the goats and their owners and study some educational exhibits.   Visitors came to the CGA booth as well to see all of the glorious things that can be made from this fine natural fiber and to learn a bit about raising cashmere goats and working with the fiber.   Raw fiber, roving, yarn, pelts, and finished products, including jewelry, hats, and gloves were on display. 

CGA plans to return to the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival in 2024.
